Come and play, or help us run it

New players and volunteers are always welcome. Here's how to get started with Southside Star.

For players & parents

Play for Southside Star

We welcome children of all abilities from Cubs through to U18s, across mixed and girls' teams. Whether your child is brand new to football or already plays, the first step is a quick enquiry.

Volunteer with us

Every Southside Star team is run by volunteers. Coaches, managers and helpers are the reason children get to play, and you don't need experience to start, just a bit of time and enthusiasm.

How joining works

Four simple steps from first enquiry to first match.

  1. 1

    Send an enquiry

Fill in the short player enquiry form with your child's name, age and a few details. It only takes a couple of minutes.

  2. 2

    We get in touch

A coach or club volunteer will contact you about the right age group, training times and where things are up to.

  3. 3

    Come and try it

Your child comes along to training to meet the team and see how they get on. No pressure, no commitment on day one.

  4. 4

    Register to play

If it's a good fit, we'll help you register through Spond so your child is set up for training and matches.

Ways to help

There's a role to suit you

You can give as much or as little time as you like. Every hour helps keep the club running and the children playing.

Team managers

Keep a team organised, from fixtures and communication to match-day admin.

Match-day helpers

Set up goals, run the line, or lend a hand on the day. A little time makes a big difference.

Behind the scenes

Fundraising, kit, social media and events. Plenty of ways to help without being pitchside.
