Welcome to the club

Football built around children, not the scoreboard

We believe grassroots football should be about far more than winning on a Sunday. It's where children learn confidence, teamwork, respect and resilience, and where they have fun doing it.

Based at Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre in Cheltenham, our volunteer coaches give every child the chance to play, improve and belong. Whether your child is brand new to football or already loves it, there's a place for them at Southside Star.

What we stand for

Six things every Southside Star team lives by

The values that shape how our children play, train and treat each other.

Respect

For teammates, coaches, referees, opponents and everyone on the sideline. It underpins everything we do.

Enjoyment

Football should be fun first. Children who enjoy it keep playing, keep learning and keep coming back.

Inclusion

Mixed and girls' teams, all abilities welcome. Every child deserves the chance to play.

Teamwork

Friendships made on the pitch last well beyond the final whistle. We grow together.

Development

We put learning and confidence ahead of the scoreline. Progress matters more than results.

A safe space

A welcoming, well-run environment where children and parents feel supported and looked after.

The pathway

From first kick to U18s

Children can join and grow with us right through their youth football journey. New age groups form as demand grows, so it's always worth asking.
